Commercial outfitters and guides can help provide you with
access to the areas of the Florida Everglades sanctioned for the
purpose of hunting Burmese pythons for the 2013 Python
Challenge™.
Go to https://public.myfwc.com/hgm/outfitters/
for a list of local guides and outfitters. The list is provided to
you as a resource, and their services are not licensed or regulated
by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
Commercial recreational activities, such as but not limited to
airboat rides, guide services or other tourist services, are
prohibited in Conservation Area 3A South west of the Miami Canal,
unless authorized by the Miccosukee Tribe, which has the exclusive
right to provide such services in the leased area.
It should be noted that Burmese pythons are most commonly found
along levees. The 2013 Python Challenge™
competition purposely is being held during the cooler months of the
year, when the pythons typically sun themselves in locations where
they are easier to spot and capture, such as levees.
An airboat, for instance, may take you into otherwise remote or
inaccessible locations, but use of an airboat is neither necessary
nor a guarantee that you will be able to find and harvest Burmese
pythons.
